IZES Annual Membership Founded in 1995 the Independent Zoo Enthusiasts Society is a group of like-minded supporters of the world's best zoos and aquariums. IZES Members receive four issues of Zoo Grapevine & International Zoo News annually. Membership also entitles discounts on books published by the Society. Additionally, the IZES organises occasional meetings at UK and European animal collections. We believe that zoos are interesting in themselves, not just as conservational vessels (however important that function may be). Therefore, we take an interest in animal husbandry techniques, zoo history, zoos around the world, zoo ephemera and, indeed any aspect of wild animals in human care. This is probably best reflected in our publication Zoo Grapevine and International Zoo News, but we also publish zoo books as well as offering volumes that are particularly pertinent.
